Troubled Heart Poetry

My heart is troubled
My heart is no longer at ease
Something is eating it deep within
My heart stays without peace
For peace continues to elude it
Peace I give unto you said Jesus
Not as the world gives you,
But peace be unto you
For in the world you will have trouble
Lord is this the trouble you talked about?
Lord is this the thorn Paul talked about?
Lord, grant me peace, I pray
But how else will I learn peace?
Unless you bring trouble my way
For I am unable to learn peace within,
If there was no trouble,
Lord, what shall I ask for?
That you take the trouble in my heart away,
And that when it’s gone it’s replaced with peace?
Lord, if this is the thorn I have to endure
Grant me grace that I may learn to be compassionate.

Poems for You

Life And All

Life,
what can I say that has not been said?
Death,
the other side of life
Family,
Our God given friend
Friend,
the most precious honour and gift
Empathy,
walking in another’s moccasins.

I Am

I
am
the
everlasting
present
The eternal present I am
The past is history… nostalgia, dreams
The future is vision… hope
The present is eternal,
Always now
I AM always present…
. . . I AM!

A Hearty Laugh

To laugh often
To laugh freely
To laugh easily
Is true wealth

To laugh from the
Pit of your tummy
To laugh uninhibited
Is true health

To laugh joyfully
In common with
All humanity
Is true Freedom!

About Sankara

Sankara Berhane Sellassie was born Robert Moses Magotsi in Kitale but was raised in the rocky Bunyore Hills, Western Kenya. He went to Ebusiralo Primary school, in Vihiga County before proceeding to Maseno National School. This was the only school in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres as the equator straddles across it. He was first gifted with reading books when he was in grade four by a cousin, who was a trainee teacher at Shanzu Teachers College. He found the world of colour and words in books so fascinating that he has become an avid eclectic reader. He read all materials from Philosophy, History, Poetry Fiction, and Autobiographies. He does not own a television!
